Chapter 1: The Eggman

It was a dark, stormy night, and a silent breeze swept through a large city. This city was Station Square, a large beautiful city in the daytime, then by night, a shadowed city with crimes, and murders.

But one person, no, one blue, light speed hedgehog, cruises the streets to stop these crimes. Alone, this hedgehog fights robots, sent by an evil genius named Dr. Ivo Robotnik.

This night, however, the hedgehog named Sonic isn’t the one chasing, he’s the one being chased, but even worse, it’s on the roofs of the buildings in Station Square. “Darn it!” Sonic the Hedgehog grunted to himself as he leapt over to the next building, barely landing on the edge of the roof. The robot chasing him followed suit, but still was outmatched by Sonic’s light speed. Eventually Sonic got fed up with the games of cat and mouse, and with the agility of a cat, he jumped two stories down, into a dark alleyway. Sonic knew this particular alley, like the back of his hand, so he retreated into an unused dumpster in the front of the alley.

Once in in the dumpster, Sonic kept as quiet as possible for what he thought was forever. Finally, after what he thought he heard was the robot walking away, he lifted the lid with all of his might, and came face to face with the robot from before. The robot was red, with a gun for one hand, and the numbers E-102 painted on it. After ten seconds or so the robot asked “It seems you’re trapped, what is your next plan of action?” And Sonic answered the word “This!” As he jumped up and kicked the robot. This attack didn’t even make the robot flinch, just then Sonic knew he was defeated. Next the robot aimed his gun at Sonic, who wasn’t far enough away, for the shot to miss. Afterwards, the robot, said “Come with me and you won’t get hurt, or try to resist, and I will take you by force.”

Even though Sonic new he was cornered, he jumped up and tried to fling himself far away from the robot, but his attempt failed, and the robot picked Sonic up, and crushed him, with a strong grip. “No one shall defy Dr. Robotnik!” The robot echoed through the empty street. “Well, it looks like I will.” Sonic weakly said. Next Sonic tried to break the robots grip, but failed, so he just sighed and let the robot take him to wherever he was going to take him. Next, after at least an hour of walking, the robot was in a huge, baron wasteland. Subsequently, Sonic saw, what the robot was marching towards, a goliath sized ship, that had nearly the same color scheme as the robot E-102. Sonic also knew who owned the ship, obviously by the way it looked, it was Eggman’s (Dr. Robotnik‘s).

After, the robot slowly marched to the large, thick door of the ship; it stopped, and glared at a small monitor, and camera, in the North East corner of the doorway. Next the monitor started to flash, and Eggman appeared on the screen. Eggman had a small, baldhead with a very large mustache. He also had a fat egg shaped body, and long, thin legs. Eggman slowly said “Ahh, E-102, I see you’ve found Sonic, very good you will be rewarded.” Immediately, the monitor flashed off. Then, after a minute the door, gradually split vertically in a half, and the robot crept in. Sonic memorized the path that the robot took him, so he could eventually escape, if needed. Finally, the robot staggered into a large, gray, concrete hall, with six blank jail cells. The robot, walked over to a desk at the end of the hall and picked up a pair of keys, opened the nearest cell, and threw Sonic, into it. Sonic hit the wall, with a thud on the head, then he slowly slid to the floor, with his eyes closed, and fell asleep. The next day he awoke to a black hedgehog, like him that had eyes that gave Sonic the feeling, of death, chaos, and sorrow, but he didn’t dare look at the hedgehog, even longer than a glance. Finally, the hedgehog unlocked the jail cell and smirked, then in, a calm, yet dark voice said “Hedgehog, here’s your breakfast! You should feel lucky that the doctor is even feeding you.” The black hedgehog slid a plate to him, then walked away, with a smirk on his face. As the hedgehog walked around the corner, Sonic shot him a dirty look. Finally he decided to eat his two pieces of bread.

After his breakfast, Sonic just laid there for a long time, almost falling asleep. Eventually, though, Eggman walked to the outside of Sonic’s cell, which startled the half-asleep hedgehog. Eggman started rubbing, his nearly non-existent chin. “Sonic” he started say “do you know why you’re here?” After a while Sonic mumbled “No.” Then Eggman answered “You’re here because you always try to ruin my plans of dominating the world.” “You’re mad!” Sonic beamed at Eggman. “You’re a hedgehog that’s going to be here forever, if you don’t shut up!” Eggman shot back. Sonic frowned and closed his mouth.

Sonic and Eggman stared off for a while, and the Eggman chuckled and said

“E-102, keep your eyes on this hedgehog, while I go start this ship.” Just as Eggman walked away Sonic carefully asked “E-102 how can you listen to that man, he isn’t the kind of guy that you’ll want to be with?” E-102 stared at Sonic with his glass, green eyes, then said “I must obey my master.” Sonic glared at him again and said “If you’ll just let me out I can he-” “I must obey my master.” E-102 repeated. Suddenly there was a rumble across the ship, Sonic fell over, E-102 dropped his keys, and they slid into Sonic’s jail cell. Them without hesitation, Sonic darted for the keys. “Do not make me hurt you.” E-102 threatened. But Sonic picked up the key’s anyways. Just as he dashed to the lock, the ship jolted forward, and Sonic almost fell again.

Sonic knew that if he opened the cell, E-102 would most likely fire rounds and rounds of bullets at him, but if he didn’t open the cell, who knew how long he could be stuck there?

Without delay, Sonic jammed the key into the keyhole, and slid the bars over. As Sonic had expected, E-102 shot a barrage of ammo at him, so Sonic quickly rolled to the side, getting a bullet shot into his right arm. Then with Godspeed, Sonic rolled under E-102’s legs, and rushed around the corner, avoiding more shots.

Sonic just ran, and ran, and ran, down a long corridor, soon enough though he realized E-102 was trailing right behind him, so he lunged into a dark room to his right, skidding, on his bloody arm.

But as Sonic stood up, he realized that he had lost E-102, so he quietly shut the door to the room. Next he turned around, and gaped upon a tube, with lime green water, but oddly it was empty. Sonic then looked to his other side, and saw, a colossal sized aquarium, with the same green substance, that housed a reptile, that was nearly as big as the aquarium. This reptile was red, with some tannish-yellow color on him. Sonic just stared at it for a while, until the door flew open, and hit the wall behind it with a thud.

The light from the hallway spilled in, the light from outside met the dark room, and the figure standing in the doorway was shadowed. This figure started to come towards Sonic, and as he came closer Sonic could make out the face, and especially the eyes of the hedgehog that he was confronting with, it was the black hedgehog. The black hedgehog walked even closer to him, with a puzzled face and asked “Why are you here hedgehog?” Sonic looked at the hedgehog’s puzzled face and said “Well, before I tell you why I’m here, how ‘bout you tell me who you are, and what you want with me?” The hedgehog sneered and in his calm, yet dark voice said “Hedgehog, you amuse me,” Suddenly his smile faded “I am Shadow the Hedgehog, and I don’t want a thing with you! If you’d stop nosing around this place and fooling with Dr. Robotnik’s plans, I wouldn’t mind you!” Subsequently Sonic said “Okay then -Shadow- I’m here because I’m hiding from E-102, and got side tracked by these tubes! I’ll go right now if you want.” “Not without a fight you won’t!” Shadow added.

Shadow dashed at Sonic and mashed him in the face, with his fist. Sonic countered with a jump into the air, a curl into a ball, and dashed at Shadow. Suddenly Shadow disappeared as Sonic hit the ground, and then muttered “What the-” But was interrupted with a kick from above.

“What, are you too slow for me, hedgehog?” Shadow said as he landed, crouching on the ground. “I have a name, you know, it’s Sonic, and there’s no way you can move that fast unless you can teleport or something!” Sonic loudly said. Next Sonic ran at Shadow, but before he could attack him, Shadow disappeared. Suddenly Sonic felt a pain, on his neck, and fell to the ground with enlarged eyes. Shadow had warped behind him, and chopped him on the neck.

“It is about time, that you figured out, that I can teleport!” Shadow responded. Next, Sonic dashed at Shadow with his top speed, and rolled to the side of Shadow, then from behind, he uppercutted Shadow.

Then Shadow made a grunting noise and teleported out of the room. Sonic just stood there for a moment and then ran out of the room. After exiting the room, Sonic remembered the way out of the ship. Subsequently he started running and running, like a bandit running from a cop. Finally he reached the door, that led him out of the ship and then he remembered that they were flying in this ship. “Damn.” Sonic said to himself as he stared at the door shaking his head.

Now Sonic had no choice, but to hide in the ship until they landed. But it was too late for that because he heard the marching footsteps of E-102 behind him. “Halt, or be destroyed!” E-102 yelled. Afterwards, Sonic grinned and kicked the door open from behind, then he fell out backwards.

Next, E-102 looked down from the edge and saw nothing, until a hand grabbed him and pulled him down, and let him fall to his death.

E-102 tried to activate his jet system but failed, and exploded, when he hit the ground miles below.

Subsequently the hand pulled itself up and it was Sonic, he had suspended himself on the side of the ship. “Wow, barely made it!“ Sonic said. “Now what do I do?” He asked himself. Suddenly Eggman appeared behind him and boomed “Sonic, you’re getting to be such a pest, it looks like I’ll just have destroy you! Bio Lizard attack him!” Immediately a sound of shattering glass came, and then a roar. Then another roar. Finally the large, red reptile entered the hallway. After a while the beast started destroying the hallway, and all of its surroundings. Next Eggman gasped, hit a button on his jacket and said “Shadow, stop Bio Lizard, its crazy!” And a while later Shadow appeared from no where by Eggman and said “You called?”

“Shadow,” Shrieked Eggman “destroy Bio Lizard now!” Then Shadow said “I’m not doing this for your sake, it’s for me!”

Then from out of the blue Sonic happily said “You can’t do this on your own, Shadow I‘m with you all the way! By the way do you have enough rings?” Next Shadow responded “Yeah!” As they dashed at the enormous reptile. Subsequently the beast turned to them and swept it’s large tail across the ruined hallway. Both Shadow and Sonic were too small to jump over it and were crushed.

After the tail had swept over the two hedgehogs, they returned to their feet. Suddenly Shadow started to glow and then jumped into the air with an enormous burst of energy, and turned gold. After a minute Shadow chuckled and loudly mumbled “Now is my...revenge!”

Suddenly Shadow lept at the reptilian beast Bio Lizard, and with energy forming in his right hand, he slowly said “Chaos control!”

Bit by bit the ball of energy grew and Shadow threw it at the ground between him and Bio Lizard. Immediately the two disappeared in bright, white flash

Next Eggman said “Wh-where’d they go?” and Sonic murmured “I...don’t know...” A ball of energy then crashed into a nearby window, nearly blasting Sonic. Then Sonic dashed at the window and peered out of it and saw Shadow and Bio Lizard hovering mid-air, fighting.

Even at Sonic’s speed, this “golden” form of Shadow outmatched him greatly. Subsequently, at his amazing speed, Shadow jumped on top of Bio Lizard which had a large, red dome, that looked like it held blood. Next Shadow jumped up and kicked the dome, and glass, and blood flew everywhere.
